Kitchie's back! Yup, my sister is back in New York!!! I like it when I have surprise visitors. Well, not really a surprise, but she told me she was coming two days before!! Free Southwest ticket... cool :) Busy Busy Busy I have four projects that I'm working on and it seems like I don't have any more free time. But this the month when people will be visiting, so I'll be busy busy busy! Should I walk or not? I'm debating whether or not to participate in graduation ceremonies in May, even though I don't technically finish until August. I kinda want to do the whole cap and gown thing, and have my family and Alan come visit and watch, but then I'll have to go to class the next week! Any opinions? Berry Burst Cheerios As per Bev's food reviews, I bought Berry Burst Cheerios (strawberry) to try it out. But I also bought a box of Honey Nut Cheerios for my stock since they were on sale at Rite-Aid. Personally I prefer Honey Nut Cheerios, because it's sweeter, but having strawberries is nice too. What if they made Berry Burst Honey Nut Cheerios? Sheri in NYC! On Friday night, Johanna and I met up with Sheri and her high school friends (from SI!) Ami, Regina, and Sophia and went to a bar/lounge called Climate 8, which is the same place that Liz had her birthday party. It was Ami's boyfriend's birthday and there were a whole bunch of people celebrating their birthdays that night. I guess that's the place to go for birthdays. It was jam-packed!! We could hardly move. But they were playing really good music, so we danced the night away until the wee hours of the morning. The future Dr. Regina Yee My high school friend Regina (Li) is in New York, so we met up today and caught up with each other at the Grand Central Station food court. It was really nice seeing her again. I don't think I've seen her since she moved down to San Diego for UCSD med school. She's going to become a pediatrician, and I told her when I have kids, I'll send them to her. Plus, I got to see her fat engagement ring! Her boyfriend, Gary Yee, used to work at the facilities on campus with us! I knew they would get together! She is my first close friend who is my age to get married. Wow. Back to being cold It was so nice this past week and the weekend rolls around and it's back to cold 40 degree weather, rain, and even snow today! Hopefully winter will be officially over and spring can start, since I just bought 3 new cute spring tops from H&M! Wednesday, March 26, 2003
Springtime is here! I'm so surprised that when I came back to New York, the weather was exactly the same as when I was in California! It's about 50-60 degrees here everyday so far, and it's great! I don't have to wear layers and layers of clothing anymore. The warmer weather definitely puts me in a better mood. SSS Stupid Super Shuttle. I hate it. Why do I even bother taking it anymore? I should just spend the extra money to grab a cab from the airport, or better yet, just take the subway for $1.50. I arrived at JFK at 4:30pm and got my luggage by 5pm. I asked the ground transportation booth to call me a Super Shuttle, and they said it would be about 25 minutes. So I wait... and wait... and wait until 6:30pm. They said that they guy never came and that a shuttle would come get me in 5 minutes. The shuttle comes, and I ask the guy if I could get a discount or something, since I waited over an hour! He said he would call, but in the meantime, my shuttle leaves!! So I have to wait more, for another shuttle. I finally get on at 7pm, get home by 8:30pm. 4 hours total! At least it was free. Except the $1 gas charge and the $2 tip I gave the driver. I was mad at him too... he didn't even drop me off in front of my building! Back in NY Taking it day by day. Trying to get work done. Trying not to worry about the war and the terror risk. Hard to do though, when there are armed guards everywhere. Wednesday, March 19, 2003
The Big 3-0! Happy 30th Birthday Joey!! I guess you don't mind people knowing how old you are, since you put it in your blog... (hehe. I checked first.) Radio Contest Winner! I think I'm the luckiest person I know. I won another radio contest on Monday night. It was only dinner for two at Panda Express, but still! I was caller 101 on Star 101.3. I was driving to Alan's house, and whenever I hear contests, I always call in. At first, I was caller 20, and then I waited a while and then the guy answered and said... Hi. What's your name and where are you calling from?... I knew that I won or else they wouldn't have said that! I heard myself on the radio a couple minutes afterwards and it was funny. Here's a list of what I've won so far:

Yes, I know I know I haven't blogged in a while and I'm lagging, but I'm back in California now, so it means I don't have to blog! :) But here's one anyway. X Box Frenzy Alan brought over his XBox this weekend and we've been playing all weekend! He bought a new game - Dead or Alive Volleyball, and it's pretty fun, even though the girls are scantily clad. And of course, Fuzion Frenzy, and also this boxing game which is really fun! He left the box here because Heidi wanted to play the game Chase, which is really cool too. Weather switch! Right when I leave New York, the weather gets better! How rude. I think it got up to the high 50s today, even hotter than it is here in Daly City! What's up with that? But it was nice and sunny here today. I'm glad to be back home with my family and Alan. Time to relax and enjoy the California sun. Friday, March 07, 2003
Time to get down to business Kitchie left this morning, and now it's time to study hard for midterms next week! But after that, I get to go home for 1 1/2 weeks! I'm looking forward to it! So no going out this weekend. Except to the library. Broadway Musicians' Strike! The musicians that play in broadway musicals are on strike!! It's sad, since I was bidding on tickets for next week before I go home. I hope they resolve it by then or at least by the time I get back. It's good that Kitchie got to see all the shows this week while she was here, before the strike. And Flower Drum Song cancelled its show tonight. If they don't resume shows by the time the show was scheduled to close in New York (March 16th), then I guess they played their last show last night! How sad. Nap time I'm going to take an afternoon nap now, since I woke up at 4am this morning with Kitchie because she had to go to the airport early! Oh and btw, her blog link changed. I changed it on my links. Tuesday, March 04, 2003
Quick blog I noticed that when people are here visiting me, I don't have time to blog. Does that make me a good host? I hope so. :) Musicals again! I saw Flower Drum Song with Kitchie on Saturday again. And tonight, I'm going to see The Producers with Kitchie and Johanna. Don't you just love ebay? And Kitchie and I practically going to see Hairspray for free on Thursday night. How, you ask? It's all about technique. A combo of buying on ebay for really cheap and selling on craigslist for face value. hehe. Lent I'm giving up candy for Lent, which is really going to be hard for me, since I eat so much candy here. I have a whole drawer full of snack size candy bars, that, if I don't eat all of them today, will be in there throughout Lent. Today is my half-birthday! I am exactly 24 and a half today, March 4th. The reason I bring this up is because I got balloons and a plant from my family in the mail today, and the balloons said "Happy Birthday!" I think it was a mistake, but oh well... They're great! |
